Community News

The Blackridge Garden Club, for 78 years now, has enriched the Blackridge community with educational programs, environmental cleanup, creation and maintenance of corner gardens with Blackridge signs and outreach programs. The BGC predates the formation of the BCA and was instrumental in selecting the landscape design. The history of the Blackridge Garden Club can be enjoyed by going to our website, www.blackridgegardenclub.com and clicking About Us. It is an interesting history that many Blackridge residents don’t know!

Why the trip down memory lane? The Blackridge Garden Club is at a crossroads. The BGC has dwindling membership numbers and a sizeable ageing population. As a volunteer organization we cannot continue without the strong support and participation of the community: we need garden lovers willing to be active in our historic organization.

If you believe the Blackridge Garden Club brings value to you and the community, and you feel you can support our Club we’d be delighted to have you join us and happy to talk with you if you’d like to have more details. Please get in touch with Nancy Carpenter, membership chair, 412-242-5958. Vicki Rodia 412-241-2829, or Nancy Del Presto 412-247-4129 and leave a message.
